Mini Vacation

I probably should have done this post yesterday but oh well.  You saw our weekend recap yesterday but today is all about our mini vacation last week.

I took off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week and it was wonderful.  Greg worked a 1/2 day on Wednesday and was off the rest of the week.

I met Greg for lunch at Kanki on Wednesday and it was delicious.  I could eat the rice, soup and salad and be happy but I added some steak in this time.

We picked up the buddy from daycare and headed to get some snocones.

We took the buddy to his grandparents house after snocones for a sleepover while Mommy and Daddy went to see John Mayer.

John Mayer is incredible live.  He played songs from his EP that came out in 1999.  Yes please.  We loved that the Trio played this time too.
We picked the buddy up on Thursday morning and went to breakfast at Stewart's Bistro.  It is so yummy.  I got their Sunrise Special.
We then hit the road to Wilmington.
He was excited to go see all the fish!

He said fish about 100 times!  He loved the fish.  He kept wanting to touch them.
He then hit up the playground because he wanted to be free to run!

On the way out of the aquarium we stopped by to get a few ocean pictures.  So pretty!

We went to Kohls because we had some time to kill before we could check in at our hotel.  We heard him scream Elmo because he saw an Elmo shirt about 20 feet away.  Oh dear.  Welcome to the Elmo phase.

We checked into our hotel and someone thought he was hot stuff.  This kid has more personality than we know what to do with.  All he wanted to do was run around the hotel like a mad man.

We decided wings were a good dinner option so we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings where someone entertained himself and the waitress.
We headed back to the hotel and swam before calling it a night.  Someone was way to wired to go to bed in the hotel.

Carson began his morning with fruit loops before taking my oatmeal and eating every single bite of it.  Thanks man, I wanted that.  We then headed to see the USS North Carolina.  Greg was so excited to see the battleship.

We both love history and we loved touring the battleship.  It was so hot inside the ship but it was a must see for us and we have no regrets.  We don't recommend staying outside near the ship too long because there are vicious mosquitoes that will eat you alive.  You've been warned.

I teared up once or twice in the battleship.  My Grandpa was in the Navy and was in the Pacific at the same time this ship was in service.  It was so incredible to see a ship that would have been similar to his and to think about what all he did while in the Navy.  I'm thankful to be able to see places like this and to thank those men and women who serve.

We began our drive home after leaving the battleship.  Someone wanted to read on the way home.

If you made it to the end of this post, I congratulate you.  Job well done.
