Friday Favorites

It's Friday!  Happy Candy Overload Eve or the day before Halloween.

Today, I'm taking part in one of my favorite link ups.  We all love Friday Favorites with Andrea, Erika, and Narci.

My favorite this week was celebrating this guy!  He turned the big 30!  We started celebrating last weekend and have been celebrating ever since.  You only turn 30 once.

On Thursday, we decided to continue our week of celebrating with celebrating the day we got engaged!  October 29, 2011 was a great day for us and one we love to celebrate each year.
Another favorite this week is going through all of Carson's clothes and trying to pick out his going home outfit.  Greg is all about his button up shirts so we have been trying to find some matching ones for Carson.  These two little outfits came in the mail Wednesday and I love them.  I found them online at Belk and with my coupon codes they were quite the deal!

Have a great weekend everyone!  I'll see you all next week with a house decorated for Christmas

Christmas Is Coming

According to my Dreamdays app, we have 58 days until Christmas!  I already told Santa what I want for Christmas and everything.  I am pretty confident that I will get what I asked for.

Greg and I have big plans for this weekend, we are bringing out the Christmas decorations.  We decided (yes we) that we would decorate early this year in preparation for Little Man's arrival.  Today's post is all about turning the Harrison Home into the North Pole.

We ordered a new stocking for Carson.  Hopefully it will be here in the next few days!

I made these fun Christmas coasters last year.  Sorry for the glare on the picture.

I love, love these Christmas dishes.  They are the Food Network Holiday Tree collection.  I found them at Kohls.  They are so fun and festive!

This is a quick glance at our living room from last year.  I love all of the red and the Christmas lights.

This was the first thing I ever made for our apartment for Christmas.  Hooray for little yarn wreaths.

Carson will know that the Peanuts gang are friends of ours in the Harrison Home.

I'm sure we will find some new things to put out this year.  Hopefully our decorating does not take too long.  I may need to take a long nap on Saturday to prepare myself for Sunday or I may watch Christmas movies all day on Saturday.  Who knows.

So Long 20s

As of today, we have a 30 year old in our house.  No, it is not me.

Happy Birthday Greg!

Did you know that you share a birthday with Teddy Roosevelt?

Here is what happened on October 27, 1985...
Billy martin was fired by the Yankees for the 4th time.
Hurricane Juan ravaged the US gulf states and east coast.
The Royals defeated the Cardinals in the 82nd World Series.

Here is what I know about the boy born on October 27, 1985
You decided to make his appearance early, a few weeks early in fact.
You love all things weather related.  That probably explains why you came early.  I mean there was an earthquake in New York and someone was curious over what happened.
You love music.  You can turn almost anything into a drum.  A couch, a steering wheel, a table, your leg, and the list goes on.
You are independent, you are serious, you are focused.
You love your family and you are beside yourself waiting to meet your son.
You love your job and continue to set goals for youself in the workplace.
You have grown to love teaching more than either one of us thought would ever happen.  Not to mention that you love the middle school students that we get to be with on a weekly basis.
You challenge everyone around you to strive for excellence in all things.
You are a leader.  You lead in your example and in how you serve.

Happy Birthday to my favorite guy!  I know 30 is going to be the best yet for you.  Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Bye Bye Harrison Party of 2

The days of it being just the two of us are drawing to a close.  Greg and I went to the Harvest Festival at our church last night and it was another reminder that we are nearing the day in which there will be three of us going to things.  I'm pretty sure that Greg's birthday and Halloween will be the last two things we do as a family of 2, unless little man decides to come late and be here after Thanksgiving.

These last few days have been met with the reality that Carson could be here soon.  We are down to the weekly appointments to the doctor and were told last Friday that we should make sure we are ready this week.  He did not say that because Carson will come this week but just so that we are not rushing and scrambling to do things in the next couple of weeks.

This week might be busy.  Here's the plan...
  • Greg turns 30! It's a big year for Greg.  Turning 30 and becoming a Dad.
  • Finish washing things for the little man.
  • Try to get his nursery all organized.
  • Finish up the hospital bags.
  • Decorate the house for Christmas.
Have a great week everyone and pray that we can fit some sleep into our week as well.

Countdown is On

The air is getting cooler, the days are getting shorter and the weeks are getting closer.  Fall is in the air and that means that the days of snuggling with my new little one are getting so close.  We are at less than 5 weeks until we get to meet our Carson.

These last few weeks have been full of Carson anticipation.  We have had baby showers, worked on the nursery, and more doctors appointments than we know what to do with.  We are even getting our flu shots this year.

Check out some of the fun things you have got buddy.

You are all ready for your 1st Christmas Dinner.

I have a feeling that you will stay squeaky clean.

You are most definitely going to be a cute dressed little man.

We are ready to celebrate your 1st Year Milestones.

It appears that you will like cars like your Dad and Uncle Josh.

It looks like you will be a little musician like your Dad too.

Carson, we are so ready to meet you!  I have never seen your Dad more excited.  He is the first to watch your weekly update videos on the baby app, the one who wanted to install your car-seat last month, pack our hospital bags and do anything he can to get ready for you.  We will see you in about 5 weeks little man.

Oh Hey October

It's here!  It's finally here.  October is without a doubt the best month of the year.  I love the colors of the leaves changing, pumpkins everywhere, mums and just the October air.  I am very thankful that the Lord has granted me the ability to live in places that do October well.  There is nothing quite as beautiful as the changing of summer to the fall colors.

This October is busier than most but I'm going to make sure to enjoy it. I'm sure there will be some pumpkin and apple baking recipes coming in the next few weeks.  I can guarantee that I'll be watching It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.  Greg and I also have lots of things to do to get ready for the little man because October is our last month before he makes his arrival!!  Hospital tours, final baby classes, baby showers, and as much sleep as we can possible fit in our schedule.
