Friday Favorites

It's finally Friday!  I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci today for Friday Favorites.

My first favorite of the week was discovered yesterday and I must admit I watched this video a few times yesterday.

Could they be any more fun in this video?

My other favorite has been quiet times to be able to read some this week.  Wednesday, I mentioned a few new books that I'm excited about.  I started with this one.

Today is my last day with the little guy before he starts daycare next week. I know he will do great, but I have to admit it's going to be weird.

I hope all of you have a great weekend.  My weekend involves some tax prep and having my windshield fixed after our ice last weekend.  Oh joy.

What's Up Wednesday: January

Hey everyone!  I hope you are all having a great week. Today, I'm linking up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday.   Feel free to join us on the last Wednesday of each month.

1. What We're Eating This Week...
I have been trying a few recipes out of my new Pioneer Woman cookbook.  Check out her new Dinnertime cookbook.  We have tried a few of the pasta dishes and some of the soups.  We also made her Crockpot Broccoli Soup last Friday during our ice storm.

Speaking of Ree, I ordered some of her new kitchen products.  I could not love her more.

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...
I have been thinking about my time at OBU lately.  The other day on my Timehop was me commenting about how it was my last first day of college.  I feel like I was just at OBU, but I graduated over 5 years ago.

3. What I'm Loving...
I am loving HEAT!  It has been so cold lately and I'm realizing how thankful I am for heat and for warm blankets.  Thankful for a few days of 50s and 60s that are coming.  The lows in the teens can stay away for a little while.

4. What We've Been Up To...
We have been iced in the last few days so we have done lots of Netflix watching, baking and staying covered in blankets.

So many snuggly blankets, even for little buddy.

5. What I'm Dreading...
I feel like this was the question of the day for yesterday.  We had 2 month shots for the little buddy.  He was a trooper and I hope today and tomorrow he will feel like his sweet little self.  He wanted to sleep and be held all day yesterday.

6. What I'm Working On...
A schedule.  I'm almost done with maternity leave so I've been using my Erin Condren LifePlanner a lot these last few days making sure we are all ready for our normal schedule.

7.  What I'm Excited About...
I'm excited about getting back to work.  I love my job and have missed being there.  Don't get my wrong, I have loved maternity leave with little buddy.  It will be nice to get back to work and enjoy the spring semester at SEBTS.

8. What I'm Watching/Reading...
I have three books on my Kindle that I'm working on now.

All three of these books are pretty new and I've heard great things about all of them.

I've been watching a lot of this.

I mean, when I grow up can I be Joanna Gaines?

I'm also so ready for this to come out...

9. What I'm Listening To...
I've been listening to the new Passion album.

10.  What I'm Wearing...
Umm, currently a lot of pajamas.  I've been iced in and on maternity leave.  Can you blame me?

In a few weeks, it will be back to my work clothes.  Jeans, cardigans and scarves.

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend...
Greg is on call this weekend so we can't really go anywhere because as soon as we do he will get a call.  We have to have my windshield fixed because the ice got to it and there is now a large crack.  We will also go to church this weekend.  I love our church.

12.  What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month...
My birthday is next week, that is exciting.   The Super Bowl and the Super Bowl party snacks and getting back to work are also some exciting things coming up in February.

13.  What Else is New...
My brother and his wife were here a few weeks ago and he helped me start one of my Pinterest projects that I wanted.

We now just have to stain it and put some trim around it on the top.  It is so great.  It allows me to have a lot of folding space.

14.  What's My Favorite Valentine's Day treat...
I love Mel's White Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn.  It makes a great Valentine treat.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy the link up.

Friday Favorites: Two Month Old Edition

Happy Snow and Ice covered Friday.  Today, I am linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci for Friday Favorites.

Today, little man is 2 months old and that is the big favorite around here.

He definitely has some personality.  When we went to the doctor a few weeks ago he weighed 9 lbs and 8 oz.  He had gained 3 pounds since birth.  We were supposed to go to the doctor today for his 2 month check, so I guarantee he weighs more now.

Carson loves feeding time.
He sleeps through the night!  Hallelujah.
He LOVES to play on his play mat.

Our other favorite for today is a Snow Day.  We are all home from work.  However, the snow we were supposed to get has been mostly sleet and freezing rain.  I hope we keep our power.

Happy Friday everyone and enjoy your weekend.  Stay warm.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone!  Time to link up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci for Friday Favorites.

I'm enjoying 2016 so far.  We are trying to stay busy and to find little projects to work on.

I've been working on my goals for the year.  I've been reading The Nesting Place lately and I love it.  I recommend it to any of you for a great read.  It has definitely been a favorite for this week.

Another favorite this week has been reading to Carson this week.  Greg and I were given The Jesus Storybook Bible for Carson at one of our baby showers and we love it.  It is a fantastic Bible for all little ones.

One of my favorite parts of maternity leave other than snuggling a cute baby boy has been to find new recipes for our family.  I wrote about some of my favorite places to look for recipes on Wednesday.

This guy is my real favorite of the week.  His little personality is probably my favorite.  I love the Bazinga onesie with a paci and oversized aviators.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Life Lately

How does this little guy change so much?  He looks like a little boy more and more every day.  We are enjoying our time hanging out.  Just a few more weeks of maternity leave.

We are on the verge of having another drummer in our house.   Oh dear.  He does have a great grip  on his Dad's drumsticks.

We are all ready to cheer on our Razorbacks!  #wps

I think we have a future of these looks.  You can't say this kid is lacking in personality.

This is Carson's face when he saw the final score of the Jets game.

He quickly got it together so he could cheer up his Dad.  He and his Dad are optimistic about next year.

Apparently the first snow flurries of the year are not too impressive.

Carson does have a pretty normal size head, but apparently these Aviator's are a tad too big.

Look at that sweet little face.

Time to count with Dad.  Carson loves time with his Dad.

Let's Find Some New Recipes From Old Friends

One of my favorite things to do each year is to find new recipes.  Below are some of my favorite places to look for new meal ideas.  Where do you go to find new and tasty recipes?  What are some of your favorites?  I need some new inspiration for the new year.

I have been following Shay's blogs for a little over a year.  Her recipes are some of my favorites.  She uses ingredients that we all have on hand and wants all of us to enjoy making dinner for our families. Her first two cookbooks are coming out on February 1st.  I've already pre-ordered mine.  Check them out.

One of my favorite recipes from her blog is her Green Chile Chicken Baked Tacos.  They use her Perfect Chicken recipe to help make the meal even easier.

So, this woman needs no introduction.  If I could sit down with anyone and talk food this is who I would choose.  I LOVE The Pioneer Woman.  I also appreciate her love for butter, cream, cheese, chocolate, need I say more?

I just ordered her newest cookbook, Dinnertime.  I'm excited for it to get here.  Her cookbooks are always so beautiful.

My favorite recipe of The Pioneer Woman is hands down her Perfect Potato Soup.  There are so many other great ones though.

I have tried several of the recipes from this site.  Greg and I keep debating trying one of their fudge recipes.  I love fudge and Greg loves all things German Chocolate.  This is quite the combo.  Stay tuned to see if we give it a try.  Hello German Chocolate Fudge

I also love their fun cookbooks.  One of my favorites of the cookbooks is their 12 Days of Christmas with Six Sisters' Stuff.

I have just recently found this blog.  Meet Siri, she is married to Carson Daly.  Yes, Carson from TRL.  I do not have a favorite from Siri yet, but I know I will soon.

One of my favorite desserts growing up is what most people call Seven Layer Bars.  We always called them Hello Dollies.  I have no idea why.  I noticed the other day that Siri has made a small change to these lovely bars.  I have a feeling that I will be making her Ultimate Seven Layer Bars soon.

Andrea with Momfessionals is a close friend of Mix and Match Mama.  She is a Middle School Teacher, so she knows how difficult it can be to get dinner on the table.  She does not post a lot of recipes but she has posted one of our go to recipes at our house.  I had to feature her here too.  She does host a recipe exchange link-up on the last Wednesday of each month.

Please check out Andrea's Best Pulled Pork.

Happy cooking, baking and making yummy dinners for your family.
