Christmas Movie Nights

We are big time Christmas movie watchers in our house.  I also love a good theme so I'm working on having three Christmas movie theme nights.  I have the dates for them in my calendar already and now I'm thinking through what to do for them.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
I'm thinking we will make Snoopy's Doghouse.  Instead of a ginger bread house, I'm going to use graham crackers and we can make a little dog house.

Menu: Pigs in a Blanket as a tribute to Linus' blanket, Peppermint Pattie's Popcorn, and some Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Cookies.

The Grinch
I have a feeling we will read the book before we watch this classic cartoon.

Menu: Roast Beast, Who Hash and Who Pudding

The Polar Express
We will play with our new Polar Express Train, read the book, and watch the movie while having some cookies and hot chocolate.

I would love for some more suggestions.  We are all about some Christmas fun at our house.

Let's Talk: Christmas Traditions

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I'm linking up today with Andrea and Erika for their Let's Talk Link Up.  I forgot about it yesterday so today it is.  This month is all about Christmas traditions.  I actually talked yesterday about one of our new Christmas traditions.

We have been trying to introduce new Christmas traditions each year.  We love Christmas at our house.

Christmas Decorating
We have always decorated for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving at our house.  Well that was true until Carson.  Last year we were due Thanksgiving week so we decorated early so we could bring our little buddy home to a decorated house.  This year, we started decorating the night of Thanksgiving.  My parents were still in town and it was easier to do it that night while they entertained the buddy.

Christmas Lights
Greg and I both love to look at Christmas lights so we always do that during December.  Last year we started our Jammy Cocoa Christmas tradition.  We all wear our pj's, have some hot chocolate and go drive around to look at lights.

Christmas at The Creek
Our church is wonderful and we have so many fun things we are able to do at church during December.  Greg always plays in Pastor Chad's Christmas Concert and he plays during all of our Christmas Eve services.  Those are two of our favorite things during the Christmas season.  Plus it always snows at our church on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Movies
We watch a ton of Christmas movies during December.  We have so many of them.  We have already watched Home Alone and The Muppet Christmas Carol.  I know we have many more in our future.  Some of our favorites are here.

North Pole Breakfast
We just started this tradition and we had so much fun with it.  You can read more about how it went here.  Our new elf Clyde joined us.

Christmas Dishes
I love my Food Network Christmas Tree dishes but we have bought plastic Christmas plates each year too and I love the new patterns each year from Pottery Barn Kids.  This year they are Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

These are just a few of the fun traditions we have at our house.

North Pole Breakfast 2016

Saturday morning we had our first annual North Pole Breakfast.  We have been trying to begin new Christmas traditions each year and this was our new one for this year.

We decided we would get an Elf for Carson even though he is only one and has no idea what it is but we are just going to have fun with it.

We decided to have a glamorous breakfast of powdered donuts and mini muffins.  There was supposed to be fruit but I may have forgot that at the store.  Bad Mommy.

Carson loved his powdered donuts and muffins.  Greg read him the Elf on the Shelf book and then he met his new Elf.  Clyde the Elf has joined the Harrison family crazy.  Clyde came in on Santa's sleigh.  Clyde brought all three of us some Christmas pajamas.  We enjoyed our breakfast on our new Rudolph plates.

Rudolph plates can be bought here.
Greg's new pajamas are here.
My new pajamas are here.
Carson's new pajamas are here.

Time for some more Christmas fun.

Bonus Question: Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition
The Parade!  We loved watching it with our little buddy last year and it is by far my favorite Thanksgiving Tradition.

Happy Wednesday and have a great Thanksgiving!

Carson, The One Year Old

I can't believe this day is here.  This year has flown by.  I love my big one year old something fierce and have loved watching him grow and learn this past year.

Here is a little bit about the one year old.
He weights 22 pounds and 13 ounces which puts him in the 74th percentile.  He is 30.75 inches which puts him in the 84th percentile and he still has one huge head.

He is walking everywhere and today experienced his first busted lip from a fall.  You have to love blood everywhere.  The joys of being a boy.

I'm 110% positive that this kid is going to eat me out of my house.  He loves any food you put in front of him.  If you give him  hotdogs or eggs though he may choose to be your best friend.

He loves to play with his blocks and to make lots of noise.  This kid is 100% boy.  He is a champion sleeper and plays hard when he is awake.

We are beyond thankful for our sweet little Carson.  He is funny and fierce.  He loves his Mommy and his Daddy and he keeps us on our toes.  We could not be more proud of him.  We are praying for him to grown up to be strong and courageous and to love the Lord.

Here is to year two.

Carson Turns One: Chuggington Edition

Sunday afternoon was Carson's 1st Birthday Party and we had a Traintastic time.

I had so much fun decorating for his party.  We had Sausage Rotel dip, BBQ smokies, drinks, cupcakes, popcorn and a veggie train.

Someone loved his train cake!

We loved celebrating our big boy with our friends and family.  Carson was happy to give everyone a June Bug Cookie as a thank you for coming.
