Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas from the Harrisons!

My family prays that as you celebrate Christmas today that you will remember the true meaning of Christmas.  We pray that this Christmas season will encourage you and that you will continue to thank God for sending his Son to us.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Friday Favorites: Merry Christmas!

We are only 2 days away people.  Most of us are in Christmas Vacation mode by now and ready to have a great weekend.  It's time for some Friday Favorites first with Andrea, Erika and Narci.

I love Jimmy Fallon and this video puts me in the holiday mood.

Dirty Santa gift exchanges are always a so fun.  A friend from church has been making these and it is one funny white elephant gift.

I have been looking for a nativity set for my house for a very long time.  I love the Willow Tree set.  Last night, I found this set on Amazon and it was almost half off!  Thanks to Amazon Prime it will be here on Saturday.

I left work early yesterday and went to celebrate Christmas with the buddy at daycare.  They all read the Christmas story from Luke 2 and ended their party with milk and cookies.  I think someone is a big fan of cookies.  He also likes wearing pajamas to daycare.

Someone also brought home his first Christmas craft.  This favorite is already on the Christmas tree.

We are happy to be on Christmas break.  Bring on the pajamas, Christmas movies all day and lots of fun baking.  Time with this little guy is my favorite!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Fa la la la la

If you need me today, you can find me making cinnamon rolls or at Carson's Christmas party.

I do hope that as many of you begin your Christmas vacation that you enjoy this time with your friends and family.  I pray that you find the true gift of Christmas this year and that a baby who was born some 2000 years ago would become your Savior.

What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday friends!  Are you ready for our last What's Up Wednesday of the year?  I'm linking up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday and hopefully you join us.

Here we go...

What We're Eating This Week...
Monday: Christmas Party at Stewart's Bistro
Tuesday: Patty Melts
Wednesday: Spaghetti & Meatballs
Thursday: Tacos
Friday: Lasagna
What I'm Reminiscing About...
Past Christmas memories.  It is fun to see how things have changed over the years.  I'm so thankful for my family and spending time with them.
What I'm Loving...
Carson is most definitely on the move.  He has been walking for about 2 months and he is everywhere.  I thought this stage would be scary but it is so much fun.  He is so active and playful.  I'm loving it.

What We've Been Up To...
Christmas parties, meeting Santa, and lots of Christmas cheer.

What I'm Dreading...
Taking down all of my Christmas decorations.  I love all of the twinkly lights at night.

What I'm Working On...
Cinnamon rolls and more cinnamon rolls.  I'll have made about 15 pans by the time I'm done this weekend.

I'm also working on getting everything in my 2017 Erin Condren Life Planner.

What I'm Excited About...
Carson and I are flying to Arkansas next week to see my family.  We are excited and hoping Carson does well on the plane.
What I'm Watching/Reading...
Christmas movies and more Christmas movies.  This week we have been watching the Christmas classics like Rudolph, Frosty and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

I've been reading Hope Unfolding: Grace-Filled Truth for the Momma's Heart by Becky Thompson.   It has been a slow reading time for me these last few months.

What I'm Listening To...
Christmas music is all that we have been listening to since the day after Thanksgiving, well I may have stared the day after Halloween.

What I'm Wearing...
I've brought out the Christmas sweaters.  I actually found these two in the mens section at Kohls.  Oh well, they are comfortable.

What I'm Doing This Weekend...
Christmas is here!  We will be at church for our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services.  Other than that, we will have lots of family time with yummy food.
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month...
Starting fresh.  I don't normally do new years resolutions but I do like to start fresh with new planners, new goals and just a clean slate.
What Else Is New...
Not much.  We are enjoying the Christmas season as a family.

Bonus Question: Favorite memory of 2016...
I'm not sure that I have one specific memory for this year.  I have loved watching my sweet family adjust to being a family of three.  Hopefully 2017 is even better.

Show and Tell Tuesday: Christmas Recipes & Traditions

It is Show and Tell Tuesday and I'm linking up with Andrea for the last one of the year!  Grab the graphic above and link up with all of us.  Today is all about our favorite Christmas recipes and traditions.

Growing up we did not have a traditional Christmas day meal.  One year we had brisket for Christmas.  Yes please.  We did always have sausage balls and hot chocolate while opening presents and normally on Christmas Eve as well.  This is my 5th Christmas being married and we have tried to keep some things the same but some things we do differently.

Our church has several Christmas Eve services.  This year we have them at 3, 5, 7 and 11. Our Christmas Eve traditions include being with our church family and we love it.
We have had made sausage pinwheels and hot chocolate the last few years on Christmas morning.  However this year we started making sausage cheese biscuits for breakfast some mornings and we love them.  We decided to make a breakfast casserole this year so we can have something a little more hearty before our Christmas Day services at church.  We are thinking about making this one.  It is a Sausage Quiche, not a pie crust quiche but it is delicious and a favorite for all of us.  We have a gift card to Honey Baked Ham so I'm pretty sure a ham is in our future for Christmas day as well.

I always bake my cinnamon rolls around Christmas and this year it is becoming a fun recipe for many of my friends.  I'll be delivering about 12 pans of these over the next week.

Greg always wants my Cranberry Bars around Christmas too.  They look so festive.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and enjoy all of the great family traditions and extra calories.
