What's Up Wednesday: May

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I'm linking up with Mel, Shay and Sheaffer today for What's Up Wednesday.  Grab the graphics below and join in on the fun.
On the last Wednesday of the month we answer these questions and one bonus question.
Here we go...

What We're Eating This Week...
Monday we had Chicken Tacos with friends
Tuesday we went to Chili's with our new small group leaders
Wednesday: We are eating out before a middle school softball game
Thursday: Chicken & Broccoli Shells
Friday: Spaghetti & Meatballs

What I'm Reminiscing About...
This Sunday is promotion Sunday at church.  I always get a little emotional when we lose our 8th grade students to high school.  We have had some of them since they were in 6th grade.  Time goes by so fast.

What I'm Loving...
Carson is learning new words on a daily basis it seems.  He is so much fun and we are loving watching him learn new things each day.

What We've Been Up To...
Our weekend recap is here.  We are ready for the pool days to continue.

What I'm Dreading...
The heat.  I don't like it.  I like it to be warm but when it starts getting close to high 90s and 100s, I am not a fan.

What I'm Working On...
I submitted a bulk order on Monday for Rodan + Fields and I'm happy to say that I have hit Executive Consultant.  Some people hit it earlier, but I'm just so happy to know that working hard pays off.  If you have wanted to learn more, I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

What I'm Excited About...
Summer is basically here.  We love to grill, play out in the water and enjoy all of the family time.

What I'm Watching/Reading...
We haven't been watching a lot lately.  When we do have the TV on, it is mostly baseball.  We love baseball in our house.

What I'm Listening To...
I have been seeing a lot of concert posts from the U2 30 year anniversary Joshua Tree tour.  I have been listening to U2 on repeat these last few days.

What I'm Wearing...
Jeans, t-shirts, and lots of sandals.

What I'm Doing This Weekend...
I have my annual eye exam and I'm hoping for a little rest this weekend.  We were so busy this past weekend.

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month...
Carson starts his swim lessons next month.  I can't wait to see a bunch of toddlers doing swim lessons.

What Else is New...
Not too much.

Bonus Question: Favorite Vacation Spot
We loved when we went to Charleston.

Weekend Recap: Memorial Day Weekend

If you are like me, getting up was not easy this morning.  We had a fun filled weekend.

Friday night we relaxed at home and had Italian Sausages with our very favorite sweet potato waffle fries.  We took it easy and loved being in our pajamas by 7:00.

Saturday morning we decided it was a good morning for Brigs.  Carson loves to get the egg and bacon basket.  It is a lot of food for a little guy and Mommy has no problem helping him with his home fries.
Carson takes his coloring seriously while we wait for breakfast.

After breakfast, I went to the gym and did this.
While the boys went to Home Depot.  They came and picked me up and we went by Walmart on our way home for our grocery pickup.

We spent the rest of the morning mowing and picking up the house.  Saturday  night we went to church where someone had fun with their friend.
We ended our night at Taco Bell and someone waved at everyone he saw.

Sunday we went to church and then grabbed lunch on the way home.  We came home and we had a delivery.  Someone loves his new Baby Groot.

We spent the afternoon getting ready for our Middle School Ministry Memorial Day Cookout.  We had a 'Merica theme.  Our shirts are both from Amazon.

We didn't win but we had fun.  We also were so full from all of our snacks too.  On the way home we saw this sunset.  This picture does not do it justice.
Monday we went to Greg's parents for lunch.  Greg's Dad is great on the grill.  He grilled some steak tips, burgers, and corn on the cob.  It was so good.

Monday night we had dinner at our friends house and the boys decided to swim.

Carson loved it.  We are happy about that because his lessons start in a few weeks.
Carson also was pretty excited about eating his ice cream too.  He is a fan of pool days.

We hope you all had a great weekend.  I should have put on more eye cream last night.  My eyes look so sleepy today.

Friday Favorites

Hello Friday and hello 3 day weekend!  It is nice to see you.  I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci for Friday Favorites.
{ONE}
This article has been a favorite this week.  As a working Mom this resonates so much with me.  I know that my summer will look different because Carson is still too little to do a lot of things but this article has just been very encouraging to me this week.  Thank you Jessica for being open about what you are feeling.  You are not alone.

{TWO}
I don't know about you but I love strawberries.  They have been a big favorite at our house this week.
My post yesterday had a yummy Strawberry Crisp recipe too.

{THREE}
The buddy has some serious personality.  He cracks us up everyday.  He is definitely watching what we do and is trying to do it himself.  He turns everything (Wii remote, TV remote, hairbrush) into a phone and pretends to call his friends.  He also loves to get his Daddy's brush and brush his hair.  He may have got our mini dust pan brush and tried to brush his hair with that.  Gross.  Tuesday night he decided to brush his Daddy's hair.
No one said he was gentle with the brush.  I love this kid.

{FOUR}
Our weather has been nice for the most part.  Well, it has been rainy the last couple of nights.  Monday night we got a glimpse of summer evenings at our house.

We had fun playing baseball with Carson.  I don't think the MLB is going to be making any house calls anytime soon though.
I felt like this was the definition of summer.  Greg found a frog as we were about to water the plants.  He kept trying to catch it and after a few minutes he did.  Carson was not sure what to think.
We also saw lightning bugs.  Hello summer.

{FIVE}
I'm placing a Rodan + Fields bulk order on Monday morning.
I'm offering the following products at my Preferred Customer price with no tax and no shipping. Comment below with your e-mail if you are interested.  If there is something else you want to try let me know.
Sunless Tanner $23
Sunscreen $23
Lash Boost $135
Micro-Dermabrasion Paste $72
Multi-Function Eye Cream $55

These are my legs a few weeks ago when I did my first application of the Sunless Tanner.  I love how natural it looks.
I hope you all enjoy your three day weekend.  I also want to remember all of those who have given up their life for our freedom.  To our Veterans, I want you to know that we are truly sorry for the loss of some of your friends over the years.  We remember them with you.

Linking up with Carolina Charm for 5 on Friday

Sweet Summer Treats

I've baked two new recipes this week and I thought it would be a good day to share the recipes.  I think they would both be great Memorial Day Weekend treats.  I found both of these recipes on Pinterest.

Candied Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies
I made these on Sunday morning for our Middle School students.  We loved them.  Carson thought they were worth making again.  The only thing I would have done different is to use thicker bacon.  The recipe said to use thick bacon, I just had regular so that is what I used.

You can get the recipe here.

We made the second recipe on Monday night.  We halved the recipe on this one and served it with Mayfield Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream because we had an Ibotta rebate for it.  Normally we buy Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla.  We also used frozen strawberries because we had more of them but fresh would be wonderful in this.

Strawberry Crisp

You can find the recipe here

18 Months of Carson

Monday marked 18 months with Carson the Buddy.  Time sure flies when you are having fun.

He is growing so fast and his personality keeps us on our toes.

Carson is two things.  Loud and fast.  We would not have it any other way.  We go to bed shortly after him each day because we are exhausted.  He is our favorite.

He weighs just over 26 pounds and is just short of 3 feet tall.

His vocabulary is growing each day.  He loves to be outside and he loves the water.  He is starting swim lessons in June.  We are excited about that.

He has sweet friends at church and at daycare.  He is so sweet to everyone.  He gives the best hugs, kisses and high fives.

We love you buddy!

Weekend Recap on a Tuesday

Hey everyone!  I hope you had a great weekend and a great Monday as well.  I was home with the little buddy on Monday so this post is a little late.  Sorry but not really that sorry.

Friday night we were at church for our Rising 6th Grade Fellowship.  We help teach a Middle School Co-Ed Small Group at church and we were meeting some new students and their parents.  Middle school is tough and we want to help prepare the students and parents as best as we can.  Having Chick-fil-A always helps too.  Carson had fun playing with his friends while we were there.  He is one fast little dude.  He also had fun getting ready before we left.  He had to brush his hair several times.
Saturday morning we started with a breakfast of champions at Panera.
Carson went to his grandparents while Greg and I went car shopping.
We came back to pick up Carson and he was impressed with the new car and wanted to test drive himself.

We were hungry by this point and decided to try Mod Pizza.  It was tasty!
The boys went home so Carson could nap and I went to get some groceries and flowers.  I found these and was so happy.  We have a divided baseball household.
We ended our Saturday with church and Taco Bell like normal.  My Sunday morning began with baking.

Yes, that would be Candied Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies.  They were awesome.
Our Middle School students devoured them.  We ate lunch at Subway with friends.  Who knew kids ate free there on Sunday?  Not me, that was a plus.
We came home and someone took their nap.  We woke up and decided it was snack time.  We enjoyed one of the best summer snacks there is.

Sunday night we grilled chicken and Carson played on his slide while the chicken and corn on the cob was on the grill.

We had such a great weekend.  I hope you did as well.
