2015 Favorites

How is today the last day of 2015?  This year has flown by.  I'm excited to link up with Andrea, Erika and Narci today for a year in review.  Hello 2015 Favorites!

January seems like so long ago.  I was looking back at my posts and loved rereading some of my old posts.  My favorite revolved around this cake.

February is always great.  Who doesn't love their birthday month?  We also had a snow day.

March was a big one for us!  We had D-Now weekend at church and we happened to find out that we were going from a family of 2 to a family of 3.

April involved some favorites at Southeastern.  We had Kelly Minter and Kari Jobe on campus.  We also announced we were pregnant

May was all about baby. Our shock was wearing off but our excitement was picking up. We also celebrated Memorial Day with some baseball.

June began nursery prep.

July was more baby stuff. We found out our little peanut was a boy!  We also celebrated 4th of July!

August was college football and early fall decorations!

September was about remembering and all things pumpkin.

October was lots of fall traditions, baby showers and Greg turned 30!

November was baby month!  Carson made his big appearance!

December came and went in a flash.  We enjoyed our sweet boy and Christmas.

We are all so excited to see what happens in 2016!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all!  Greg, Carson and I hope you enjoy this special day with those that you love.

Carson, The One Month Old

Happy 1 Month Buddy!  You are my favorite little one month old.  You are so cute.

You are growing each and every day.  When Mommy weighed you the other day you were almost to 7 and a half pounds.  Good work mister.

You love to cuddle more than anything.  You are a pretty good sleeper for a one month old.  You eat well and you like to eat every four hours.

I'm pretty sure that so far you are a Daddy's boy.  You love to hang out with you Dad and he loves to hang out with you.  He is a great Daddy to you.

We both laugh and how mesmerized you are by the ceiling fans in our house.  You will stare at them forever.  You like the color contrast.

Your Dad is already working on your music skills.  Each Saturday you and Daddy have some music time on the keyboard.  Your long little fingers will come in handy.  We are certain that you will love music.

We love you so much buddy and are excited to see how much you grow in the coming months!

Harrison Jammy Cocoa Christmas 2015

The Harrison Jammy Cocoa Christmas was a success. We had a great time getting out and having some holiday fun.

Carson slept the whole time because that is the magic of an infant car seat but we know he had fun.  We all were in our festive Christmas pajamas.  Greg wore his Elf pajamas, I had on Snoopy pajamas and Carson had his Santa outfit on.  Apparently the outfit Carson had on is a girl outfit, but we did not know that.  Oops.

We had planned to get our cocoa from Starbucks but because Greg and I had not had dinner we decided to get a burger and Coke instead of cocoa.  Sometimes a nice juicy cheeseburger sounds better on a Friday night than a cup of hot chocolate does.  I'm just being honest.

We drove through a couple of neighborhoods and realized that traditional Christmas lights are a thing of the past.  Over half of the houses we went to had the new Star Shower displays instead of regular lights.

Greg and I are not sure how we feel about the Star Shower idea.  It is nice and easy but it is not quite the same.

Daddy and Carson are all ready to go see some lights.

It is not an easy task to get everyone to look.  This was the best we could get.

Look how cute I am in my car seat.

We must have had a good time, because the little guy is wore out.

Wish us luck for Jammy Cocoa Christmas next year.  I'm sure we will have a much more mobile little guy in the back seat.

Friday Favorites

One week until Christmas!  Time to link up with Andrea, Erika and Narci for Friday Favorites.

I'm not sure if you all saw this yesterday or not, but I'm so excited.  I've been looking forward to this for a while.  The gang is all back in Fuller House.

Favorite #2
Greg and I are going to take Carson out tonight for Jammy Cocoa Christmas.  We are excited to make this a new part of our Christmas celebrations.

Favorite #3
Christmas Cookie baking is about to begin.  I saw these yummy looking cookies on The Today Show yesterday.  I'm looking forward to a weekend of baking.  Make sure to check out Siri's cookies.

Favorite #4
This little cutie.  I love my days at home with this little guy.  His little expressions are an absolute favorite.

Life Lately

Carson and I have been doing a lot of napping and relaxing during the day.  Mommy is tired after hearing her baby boy cry during the night.   There has been lots of Netflix at our house.  I decided to start from the beginning and watch all of Everybody Loves Raymond.  I love that show and will laugh out loud to myself because Carson has no clue what it is so funny.

Carson and I are enjoying just relaxing, but we can't wait to have Daddy  home all of next week and to celebrate Christmas!

See his excited face.

We also watched Adele's Live in New York Concert this week.  Our house is full of Adele fans.  There are also several fans of Star Wars in our house too and we are excited to see the new one.  We also love most Jimmy Fallon videos.

A New Look at Christmas Traditions

This Christmas season has looked a little different for us.  To start, our Christmas decorations went up on November 1st this year instead of the day after Thanksgiving like normal.  I'm the first one to admit that I LOVE Christmas but even that was odd for me.  Greg and I have slowly begun to start our own Christmas traditions.  This will be our 4th married Christmas and it is a new kind of Christmas season for us.  We have created some traditions so far but not many.  We both wanted to start a lot of new things when we had kids.

Well, the kid is now here.  There is just one small problem, he is not even a month old.  Getting out and doing a lot of things with him is just not realistic.  I'm not so sure waiting in a line for a Santa picture is going to happen.  Carson and I did not make it to see Daddy play keys in the Chad Lister Christmas Concert at church and we missed Pastor David's Famous Christmas Class at church too.

However, there are a few things that we have done.  Carson has already watched a few Christmas specials on TV.  He watched Matt, Savannah and Al ring in the Holiday Season with the lighting of the Rockefeller Tree.  He has watched A Charlie Brown Christmas, he has plenty of Christmas pajamas and has rocked a few naps in his Boppy lounger looking at the Christmas tree.

We do plan to start something new as a family this weekend that he most definitely will not remember but we do plan to do each year.  One of my favorite blogs is Mix and Match Mama and each year her family does their Jammy Cocoa Christmas.  Her Dad started this with them when she was young and I love this.  So, one night this weekend we will all dress up in our Christmas pajamas, go get a Christmas treat, listen to Christmas music and drive through neighborhoods to look at Christmas lights.  I am so excited.

You better believe in a few years we will be doing this Christmas craft too.  Our very own Elf Yourself craft.  This had me cracking up all day.  So fun and so easy.

I hope this Christmas season you can find simple ways to start new traditions with your family and friends.  Now to figure out how to make it feel like Christmas around here.  I've over these 70 degree days.

Friday Favorites

It's Friday everyone!  Woohoo.  I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci today for Friday Favorites.

First things first, my absolute favorite this year is Carson and his precious newborn pictures.  Thanks to my friend Emily at Emily Collins Photography for the wonderful pictures.

Another favorite this week is umm, Hello.

I'm listening to Christmas music almost 99% of the time these days.  However, there are moments when I just need a little Adele in my day.

I'm looking forward to watching her concert Monday night on NBC.

Finally, we have been working on trying to do small things each night to celebrate the Christmas season.  It is hard to get out and do a lot of things with a 2 week old but we are doing what we can at home to make Christmas memories.  This past Sunday, Greg played in a Christmas concert at church.  Carson and I hated to miss it but we were so proud of our favorite guy.  He was rocking the keys that night.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

P.S. For all of you taking part in Elf on the Shelf this year.  Here is a little Frozen inspired idea for you.  I saw this on Facebook earlier this week and was reminded to Let it Go.

Show and Tell Tuesday: Christmas Edition

It's Show and Tell Tuesday.  I have missed blogging these last few weeks but I have been enjoying time with my sweet baby boy.

Today, I'm linking up with Andrea at the Momfessionals Blog for Show and Tell Tuesday and it is all about our Christmas decorations.  We kept our decorations a little simple this year because we knew we would be busy with a newborn.

I love looking at our fireplace.  The stockings and snowman are from Target.  The Charlie Brown nutcracker came from CVS.

Greg did a great job putting up the tree this year and putting the lights on it.  When you are 38 weeks pregnant that is not really the most fun job in the world.  Below are two of our newest ornaments.

I made this wreath a few years ago.

Yes, even the nursery has a little Christmas decor.  Carson has his own Snoopy Christmas snow globe.

I have been trying to find a way to display Christmas cards and last year I came up with these.  Thank you Pinterest.  Fabric covered foam boards make an easy project.

I also made these coasters last year too.  Scrapbook paper and tiles for the win.

I know this is going to be the best Christmas yet.  I'm ready for sweet Carson's first Christmas.
