Merry Grinchmas!

A few weeks ago I wrote about how we had planned three Christmas movie theme nights. We had one of those nights on Monday.

Monday night was our Grinchmas night.

We had planned to have a Whoville themed dinner of roast beast, who hash and who pudding.  However life got in the way and we changed it up to green waffles shaped like Christmas trees.  I think the little guy was very happy with the change in dinner plans.  We all enjoyed our Grinch green waffles while we watched The Grinch.  Greg always watched The Grinch on Christmas Eve growing up.  Maybe one year we will have green waffles for our Christmas Eve dinner.

Here is my waffle recipe.  I added green food coloring to the batter and called it a day.  We apparently only had neon green food coloring.  Regular green would make them look more tree like.  We thought the neon green looked more Grinch like.  We sprinkled Carson's waffle with a little powdered sugar.

Waffle batter
2 eggs, 2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1 tbsp white sugar, 4 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp vanilla
Beat your two eggs until fluffy with hand mixer.  Beat in the rest of the ingredients until your batter is smooth.  Pour batter into your waffle iron and cook until golden brown.  You can spray your waffle iron with non stick spray.  We don't do that on ours because you aren't supposed to but some waffle irons require you to spray them first.
